Start each day with an invigorating vinyasa yoga practice in the most exquisite open air yoga shala and wind down the afternoon with a restorative yoga practice. New this year will be 2 workshop style sessions. All sessions are optional and open to all levels.

What to do beyond yoga? Sit and listen to the crashing waves and calling birds. Relax in a palapa at the beach or in the pool or laying in a hammock. Try surfing, kayaking, or SUPing. Take a cooking class, experience local culture or hit the mercado. Take a nap. Get a massage, go for a hike, connect with new friends. Do as little or as much as you like.

The Food at Playa Viva is a dream. Enjoy 3 beautiful organically-grown delicious meals each day, largely cultivated on-site and made by loving hands in Playa Viva’s kitchen by the sea. Lend a hand in the kitchen, experience a farm tour or take a trip to the highlands and see where the coffee and cacao are grown.

Playa Viva is not your typical retreat center. Our retreat sits on nearly 200 acres of private land that includes an estuary, an Aztec archeology site, a turtle sanctuary, a permaculture farm and a coastal forest and mangrove ecosystem that support a stunning array of wildlife. Traditional and locally sourced building materials and craftsmanship have created a breath takingly beautiful environment that is harmonious with the natural world. Every aspect of their operations go beyond “low-impact”. Solar power, water conservation, and permaculture practices are only a few ways that Playa Viva has demonstrated its commitment to being an environmentally-conscious resort dedicated to sustainability and regenerative practices. By the way, Playa viva is 100% solar powered, which means there is no air conditioning, just the cool Pacific breezes.
